<h2>What Is an LED Wall Pack?</h2>
<p>A wall pack is a surface-mounted exterior luminaire that bolts directly to a building wall. They light parking lots, building perimeters, loading docks, walkways, and security zones. They replaced 70W-400W metal halide and high-pressure sodium wall packs in commercial applications.</p>
<h2>Full Cutoff vs Semi-Cutoff</h2>
<p><strong>Full cutoff</strong> (Type II-V distributions) directs all light downward and outward. Zero uplight. Required by most municipalities, HOAs, and dark-sky ordinances. Always choose full cutoff for compliance.</p>
<p><strong>Semi-cutoff</strong> allows some uplight. Only use for decorative applications where glare isn't regulated.</p>

<h2>Photocell Options</h2>
<p>Most commercial wall packs include a NEMA 3-pin or 7-pin photocell socket. Options:</p>

<li><strong>Dusk-to-dawn photocell</strong>: On at dusk, off at dawn. Best for security lighting.</li>
<li><strong>Timer + photocell combo</strong>: Dims to 30-50% after midnight. Saves 40-60% energy vs all-night full brightness.</li>
<li><strong>No photocell</strong>: Manual control only. Use when on existing timer circuit.</li>

<h2>IP Rating: What You Need</h2>
<p>All outdoor wall packs should be minimum <strong>IP65</strong>. IP66 or IP67 for coastal, carwash, or heavy-rain environments. All ForgeLightCo wall packs are IP65+ rated.</p>
<h2>One-for-One Replacement</h2>
<p>Replacing existing wall packs? Most ForgeLightCo models use the same 4" x 4" or 4" x 6" back box footprint as legacy fixtures. Check the cut sheet for back box dimensions before ordering.</p>
